This is a specific knitting patent from the manufacturer as the fabric is elastic only horizontally and not vertically, a fundamental property that differentiates this jacket from a jersey one. Furthermore, to make a jacket you need 6 panels of fabric. The whole jacket is made from a particular chenille stitch resulting in a very soft jacket.
